Making a difference…one life at a time

FAQ

Are the pets spayed and neutered?
All of our cats and dogs are sterilized (spayed/neutered) if age allows; however, if the pet is adopted at an age that we do not feel comfortable altering, we will send them home with a certificate for their alteration that the new owner can redeem at any participating vet.

What is your policy on euthanasia?
We never euthanize a healthy pet. We only euthanize when all other options have been exhausted and we truly believe that the pet's quality of life is being compromised by keeping them alive.

How does your organization help the community?
Our goal is to reduce the number of unwanted pets by spaying and neutering.  We provide low cost spay/neuter options for strays, ferals, and companion animals by partnering with local vet clinics such as Shelter Outreach Services (sosohio.org).  Please email us for more information and include the county and part of Columbus or surrounding area you live.

While we do not have any volunteers who actively TNR (trap, neuter, release), we do lend out traps and provide guidance.

Are the adoptable pets healthy?
All adoptable pets are examined by a licensed veterinarian. Everything will be done that is necessary to ensure that our pets are healthy and ready for their forever homes. Cats are all FIV/Feline Leukemia tested and all are negative (unless otherwise stated). All dogs are heartworm tested and are on heartworm preventative. All pets are current on vaccinations and are altered at the appropriate age.

How does the adoption process work?
Start by completing an application. Applications can be filled out and directly submitted here

Alternatively, applications can be printed directly from our Web site. Please email the completed application to contactusforgotten4paws@yahoo.com or mail to P.O. Box 134, Pickerington, Ohio 43147.

Within 3 business days, we will contact you via email or phone.  If you meet the initial criteria, we will schedule an interview over the phone or in person.  Please be patient during this process as we are all volunteers; however, your application is a priority.
